Aligners / Invisable braces
People are often dissatisfied with the position of their teeth or experience functional problems. Think of a front tooth filling that keeps falling out. Besides the well-known braces, there are also removable and virtually invisible braces. These are also called "transparent," "invisible," or "transparent" braces or aligners. Ideal for anyone who prefers braces that are less noticeable!
The principle behind Ordoline aligners
There are several brands of clear braces on the market, such as Invisalign, Spark, and Airsmile. In our practice, we consciously choose Ordoline. This system has proven itself over many years and combines predictable results with a high-quality finish. A key advantage is that Ordoline is generally more affordable than comparable premium brands, while still offering the same comfortable fit and aesthetics.
Ordoline aligners are custom-made, clear braces that gradually correct the position of your teeth. They offer a subtle alternative to traditional braces because they are virtually invisible and easy to remove. The aligners slowly and gently move your teeth to the desired position. You wear a series of aligners in a fixed sequence. Each aligner is designed for a small, specific tooth movement and is worn for an average of 10 days before switching to the next.
How does Ordoline treatment work?
1. Digital intake and scan
You start with a consultation with one of our dentists who specializes in aligners. We make a digital scan of your teeth with our iTero Scanner. This allows us to create a highly accurate image of your teeth, without the need for traditional bites. Based on this scan, we create a treatment plan and explain the steps your teeth will undergo.
2. Treatment plan with ClinCheck simulation
With the help of ClinCheck We use software to visualize your entire dental process. You can see in advance how your teeth will move to their final position and how many sets of aligners will be needed. This way, you know exactly what to expect, both in terms of results and duration.
3. Wearing instructions
You wear the aligners for approximately 22 hours a day. You only remove them when eating and drinking, except when using cold or lukewarm water. Because they're removable, brushing and flossing remain easy. Wearing them consistently is essential for good and predictable results.
4. Step-by-step correction
Each aligner shifts your teeth slightly. After about 10 days, you switch to the next set, which represents another step in the correction. This process repeats until your teeth are in their final, planned position.
5. Checks during the process
We carefully monitor your progress. Initially, we'll see you more frequently, later usually every 6 to 8 weeks. During these checkups, we'll check whether your teeth are moving according to plan and make adjustments if necessary.
Variants within aligner treatments
Not everyone needs the same level of correction. That's why we offer various treatment options at Ordoline. The right option for you depends on the position of your teeth and your wishes.
- Express
For minor corrections, such as a slight misalignment or a single tooth that's slightly misaligned. This procedure is often shorter and involves a limited number of aligners. - Lite
Suitable for mild to moderate corrections. Think of multiple teeth that need to be shifted or a slight overbite. The treatment time is longer than Express, but still manageable. - Comprehensive
For more extensive procedures and complex corrections. For example, when there are significant space issues, significant misalignment, or a combination of bite and position corrections. This allows for more flexibility in making adjustments along the way to achieve the best possible final result.
During your consultation, we'll work together to determine which option is most suitable. We'll consider medical feasibility, aesthetics, and your own priorities.
Prices and reimbursement by health insurers
We believe it's important that you have a clear understanding of the costs upfront. The price of Ordoline depends on the chosen option and the complexity of your teeth. During the consultation, you'll receive a transparent quote outlining the entire process, so you won't encounter any surprises.
Reimbursement from your health insurance is sometimes possible, usually through a supplementary dental plan. The amount of reimbursement varies by insurer and policy. Some insurers apply an annual maximum or a deductible. There may also be a waiting period if you recently purchased supplementary insurance. We are happy to help you review your policy and advise you on what is realistic in your situation.
Disadvantages and challenges, honestly explained
Aligners have many advantages, but there are also some points to consider. For example, successful treatment requires discipline: wearing them 22 hours a day is really necessary. Some people need some time to get used to talking with aligners or experience slight pressure in the first few days. This is normal and usually temporary.
We actively guide you through this process. You'll receive clear instructions, practical tips for wearing and cleaning, and we'll schedule checkups to quickly resolve any problems. This way, we keep your treatment comfortable and predictable.
Also suitable for more complex corrections
Ordoline isn't just for minor adjustments. We also treat more complex situations, such as larger gaps, significant misalignment, or combined bite problems. Thanks to the iTero scan and ClinCheck simulation, we can carefully plan complex procedures and implement them step by step.
Where necessary, we use additional aids, such as small attachments on the teeth to better control certain movements. During your consultation, we will clearly explain what is needed in your situation and why.
After treatment: retention for lasting results
After the treatment, retention is important. Your teeth tend to move back slowly. That's why you'll receive a retention solution that's right for you, such as a night guard or a thin wire behind your teeth. This way, your new smile will remain stable and you'll enjoy it for years to come.
