Aligners / Invisable braces
People are often dissatisfied with the position of their teeth or experience functional problems. Think of a front tooth filling that keeps falling out. Besides the well-known braces, there are also removable and virtually invisible braces. These are also called "transparent," "invisible," or "transparent" braces or aligners. Ideal for anyone who prefers braces that are less noticeable!
The principle behind Ordoline aligners
There are several brands on the market, such as Invisalign, Spark, or Airsmile. In our practice, we use Ordoline. This brand has already proven its effectiveness and has been on the market for quite some time. It is significantly more affordable than, for instance, Invisalign, but offers a premium look and feel, and delivers highly predictable results.
Ordoline aligners are custom-made, transparent aligners used to correct the position of teeth. They offer a comfortable and virtually invisible alternative to traditional metal braces.
The principle behind Ordoline aligners is that they slowly and controlledly move teeth to the desired position. Each aligner is specifically designed to achieve a specific movement of your teeth. The treatment consists of a series of aligners that the patient wears in a specific order, with each aligner worn for 10 days before the next in the series is used.
How Ordoline aligners work:
- Custom made: You begin the treatment by scheduling an appointment with one of our dentists specialized in aligners. They will take digital scans or impressions of your teeth to design custom-made aligners. The technology ensures the aligners fit precisely and apply the right amount of pressure on the teeth.
- Wearing instructions: You typically wear the aligners for 22 hours per day, removing them only when eating or drinking (except for cold or lukewarm water). They must be worn consistently to achieve the best results, but they are easy to remove for meals or brushing your teeth.
- Gradual movement: Each aligner gradually shifts the teeth. After 10 days, you switch to the next aligner in the series, which continues the movement. This process repeats until the teeth reach their final position.
- Regular check-ups: Throughout the treatment, you’ll need to visit your dentist or orthodontist regularly for check-ups to ensure everything is progressing as planned and the teeth are moving in the right direction. Initially, appointments may be more frequent, but later on they may be scheduled every 6–8 weeks.
The benefits of Ordoline aligners include that they are discreet (thanks to the clear material), more comfortable than traditional braces, and easier to maintain, as you can remove them to eat and brush your teeth. Treatment is often quicker than traditional braces, although this depends on the severity of the dental problem. After the treatment, you will always need to wear retainers to maintain the results and enjoy your new smile for a lifetime.
To achieve the best results, it’s important to follow the recommended wear time and attend your check-ups. If you notice that your aligners don’t fit properly or you experience any issues, contact your dentist or orthodontist. Ordoline aligners can be an effective solution for those seeking a subtle and comfortable way to straighten their teeth.
