Implants

An implant replaces the natural tooth root, it is a titanium screw that is placed in the jaw under local anesthesia. Titanium is a body-friendly material, which means that this material is accepted by the body and to which the jawbone can adhere well. An implant functions in the same way as your own natural roots. You can't feel implants. You do not feel the difference between a natural root with a crown or an implant with a crown. An implant takes over the function of a tooth root and can be used as a basis for crowns, bridges and prostheses. Implants are a proven, safe and modern method. The technique has been used worldwide for more than 30 years. Implantology has been researched and tested worldwide and has proven to be an efficient and sustainable solution.

The treatment consists of several phases. First of all, we will start with the research and discussion of the possible treatment plan and what the costs would be. In the next phase, the implants can be inserted. If necessary, a second procedure will follow after the implant has grown in to raise the implant above the gums (second phase procedure). In the last phase, the construction is made, for example a crown, bridge or prosthesis on the implants.

If you are missing a tooth or molar, you can choose to have an implant placed. A crown is then placed on the implant. If you are missing several teeth or molars, a bridge can also be placed or an anchor for partial dentures (frame or plate).

If you wear dentures and there is too little grip in the jaw, so that the dentures no longer fit properly, then 2 or 4 implants can be placed. After placing the implants, a full prosthesis is made that clicks onto the implants (click dentures), so the prosthesis is super tight and it almost feels like you have your own teeth back. Sometimes this is called an all-on-4 or all-on-6.
