You can come to us for almost every conceivable dental treatment. In addition to more extensive treatments, it is important that you visit the dentist once every six months. During a semi-annual check-up, the teeth are checked for cavities and the condition of your gums is examined. We also check whether fillings still fit properly, what the mucous membranes look like and whether there is any wear and tear. After the check-up, a follow-up appointment will be made if necessary. This may be with the dental hygienist or the dentist. If the check-up reveals that a more extensive plan is required, this will be discussed with you and you will be given an estimate. In this way, we try to work with you on healthy teeth that you can enjoy throughout your life.
Why a dental check-up twice a year?
In 6 months time, changes may occur in your teeth. In order to be on time and to avoid surprises in the future, we therefore recommend that you have your teeth checked once every six months.
I never have any cavities, do I need a check-up?
Yes, during a six-monthly check-up, we not only look at cavities but also at the gums and the surrounding soft tissues in the mouth. Sometimes cavities cannot be seen or felt. A check-up is therefore essential to prevent the situation from getting worse.
I have dentures, is a check-up necessary?
We also advise people who have dentures to come for a check-up. During the check-up, the hygiene of the dentures is examined, as well as the tissues supporting the dentures and the function of the dentures. We recommend a check-up at least once a year.
From what age can my children come for a six-monthly check-up?
Children as young as 2 years old are welcome to have their teeth and molars checked. If you start at this age, your child will get used to the dental chair and future appointments will be easier.
